When used intentionally, Instagram is the most effective way to drive traffic for your brand. It’s especially advantageous for product-based businesses trying to sell online, but the platform has released a plethora of features to help basically ALL organizations, communities, and individuals alike tap into their audiences and achieve their marketing goals.

Beyond its incredibly precise marketing capabilities, Instagram has created something truly special. This platform has opened the door to a deeper layer of brand affinity that traditional marketers never even dreamed of: the ability to share a behind-the-scenes look into the inner workings of our favorite brands, where they stand on real time issues (#BeRelevant), and the faces behind the brand magic. We may have coveted and connected with brands before, but never at this deep of a level.

Tell, Don’t Sell.

Instagram gives you a unique opportunity to tell your brand’s story visually.

Telling > Selling. Period.

No one wants to be sold. The average consumer is exposed to around 5,000 ads per day. (The more you know?) The last thing we want to do is sign into IG, ready to consume content from our personally curated list of family, friends, favorite thought leaders and brands, only to be bombarded with advertisements.

Telling your story is soooooooo much more powerful than throwing your products at people, waiting for something to stick. Storytelling is how business gets done these days. Paint the lifestyle that equates to your brand, and show your audience how they can become a part of it.

Move Over, Google.

Beyond the fact that aesthetics and storytelling are of utmost importance, Instagram has become one of the most powerful search engines, especially to millennials. It’s become more than just a place to share personal experiences (leave that for Facebook, am I right?). It’s a resource for connecting service providers, communities, and products with the people who seek them (and who didn’t even know they needed them). Not only are native ads in the Instagram feed insanely powerful, but they’re insanely easy for someone to click “add to cart.”

There are currently over 1 billion monthly active users on Instagram, and an estimated 71% of US businesses use it. And these numbers are climbing every single day. You may see this as an over-saturated barrier between you and your niche audience, but we see it as unlimited potential for your brand. The platform is becoming a space for any community and following under the sun, relevant to any type of business.

So How Do You Reach Your Tribe?

All you need to do is 1. get crystal clear on your brand message and 2. implement a strategy to connect with your tribe.
